Educating the Whole Child:
Mind, Body and Spirit.
I grew up in Bridgeport, CT and attended St Charles Elementary School. From there I went on to Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, CT. Upon graduation, I decided to attend a small, private, non-profit, liberal arts Catholic college in Central Florida, St. Leo University.
I received a B.A. in English/Education and after my student teaching, I returned to my hometown of Bridgeport to teach 6th through 8th grade Language Arts at McKinley School (now Jettie Tisdak) on Hollister Ave.
I continued my education at the University of Bridgeport, receiving my Master’s Degree in both Elementary Education and Reading Process and Consulting.
After this, I moved to Newtown, CT and was a curriculum administrator in Reading/Writing at the Middle School level. I then obtained my Educational Leadership degree/certification from the University of Connecticut.
Before accepting the rigors of leading St. James School, I held leadership positions in Newtown, Fairfield, and then Stratford. In Stratford, I served as Principal at Wilcoxon Elementary, Stratford Academy Magnet, and Wooster Middle School.
Aside from my career in education, I have also served as a Director at Reader's Digest for 12 years in the Education Sales Division. I am a father of three, two daughters and one son and grandfather to seven!
During my tenure as Principal at St James School, I have subscribed to the philosophy of educating the whole child: mind, body & spirit.
I was successfully able to introduced the Middle School concept to St James with accelerated programs in Math and ELA, as well as increasing rigor in all subjects, at all grade levels including an excellent Fine Arts, Spanish language, and exemplary Music, Art and Physical Education programs.
I love being Principal of St. James School. I love the community and especially the children.
