Located in the heart of Stratford's Historic District, St. James Catholic School is a fully accredited elementary and middle school. Our school provides a rich, academic experience to grades Pre K through eighth grade.
All grades experience a well-rounded, curriculum-based program that includes Faith Sharing, Music, Art, Spanish and Physical Education. Grades 6th-8th can also experience our Honors Program with accelerated Math and Science programs.
We have educational partnerships with Fairfield University and Southern Connecticut State University which we are very proud of. We also offer a strong variety of extra-curricular, academic and athletic opportunities for our children and their families!

Established in 1945, St. James offers a competitive high school preparatory curriculum that is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. We seek to instill in each student a lifelong passion for the Word of the Lord, the sacredness of family, and the value of service to others. Our staff recognizes and strives to nurture each child's unique gifts.
St. James offers small classes, two classrooms in each grade level, a Kindergarten Early Intervention Reading Program, and learning support services through eighth grade to students who would benefit from the extra help. In addition, we offer an after-school program and many engaging clubs, music programs, and sports activities.
St. James welcomes students of all races, ethnicities, and faiths. We are a family of believers that seek to know and value each other. A look through our website will introduce a community whose hallmark is a welcoming, Christian environment. Our School day begins at 7:50 am with prayer in the gym and ends at 2:10 pm, with aftercare available until 5:30 pm.
St. James graduates are accepted and excel at the most respected high schools in the area, including Fairfield Prep, Greens Farm Academy, Hopkins, Lauralton Hall, Notre Dame of Fairfield, Notre Dame of West Haven, St. Joseph High School, Sacred Heart Academy, and the Fairfield, Southport, and Stratford, Shelton, Milford, and Bridgeport public high schools.
